About Me

I'm a licensed K–3 teacher with a Master’s in Education and experience teaching students from a variety of backgrounds. I’ve worked with students of many ages and backgrounds across China, Mexico, Vietnam, and Ecuador.

Most of my experience has been with young learners and non-native English speakers in general education classrooms where English was the primary language of instruction. Alongside teaching core subjects, I also taught phonics, vocabulary, and early reading skills

As an avid reader who loves books and writing, I am passionate about literacy and reading development. Working with students over the years, I realized that many children struggle with reading far more than people realize, and too many children are falling behind without the support they truly need.

What drives me most is knowing how much reading impacts a child’s future. Reading is one of the most important skills a child can develop because it impacts confidence, communication, academic success, and future opportunities.

My goal is not only to help students become stronger readers, but also to help them enjoy learning, think independently, and develop lifelong curiosity. I enjoy creating learning experiences that make children feel encouraged, capable and excited to learn.

My tutoring style is patient, encouraging, and student-centered. I give students space to express themselves, ask questions, and build confidence without pressure or shame. I encourage students to challenge themselves, but I never force them beyond what they are ready for.

Above all, I aim to make learning feel enjoyable and engaging because I believe children learn best when they feel comfortable, supported, and genuinely engaged.

If you’re looking for a supportive, experienced educator who truly cares about helping children grow into confident readers, I’d love to work with your family.
